Dorothy Lucille Sheldon was the baby daughter of Vernon Burr Sheldon (1890 - 1927) and Nellie Anne Page (1890 - 1973). The location of her cemetery interment was a long-time mystery to our family until we located her grave in 2000 by reading cemetery transcriptions. She was my father's only full sibling, although they also had three half-siblilngs, one who also died at birth.

Vernon Burr Sheldon, d. August 28, 1927, is at rest in Bosworth Cemetery, Walton Twp., Eaton County, Michigan. Nellie Ann Page Sheldon, d. September 17, 1973, is at rest as Nellie (Page) Sheldon Nolan in the Mesa City Cemetery, Mesa, Maricopa County, Arizona.

Installing and repairing markers for family members has been one of our Sheldon family projects. The third photo shows the installation of Nellie's marker being made in Mesa, Arizona in 2004. Dorothy's marker was designed to match that of her mother's and it was installed in Elsie, Michigan on January 4, 2007, just in time for her Angel Day.

Although we did not know the exact location of Dorothy's grave, we knew she was buried in the Elsie Village Cemetery (Duplain Township). Nellie's elder brother Reedie Page had passed away earlier from Tuberculosis. Grandma was very close to "Darling Reedie," as his headstone reads. His remains occupy one-half of the cemetery plot, and we placed her headstone on the other half concluding that would be the most logical place for burial.

It was my sister Marie Rose who placed the headstone for Dorothy Lucille. In the 1960's she lived in a home just two doors away from the cemetery. One day while visiting as a child of about 7, I wandered away from my sister's house, curious, and I walked through this cemetery. It wasn't until years later that we found an abundance of family history here.

Thank you also to everyone leaving your flowers and messages. They are great to see and read.

Sincerely, the Sheldon family.
