Ruth Elizabeth Shroyer Smith, a homemaker, died Monday at her home. She was 76. Mrs. Smith was born in Donaldsonville, Ga., and lived in Slidell for the past 14 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Slidell. She is survived by four daughters, Donna L. Tycer of Talisheek, Debra S. May, Dawn M. Geest and Denise S. Buchannan; a son, Dennis L. Smith of Greensboro, N.C.; a sister, Katherine Jackson of Columbia, Md.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Homes, 3808 Pontchartrain Drive, Slidell. Visitation will be held tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, Miss.
