She descends from the Genealogy of Captain John Johnson, and was the daughter of Stephen B. Johnson (1832 - 1906) and Emelia Crandall (1836 - 1897) and grand-daughter of Nathaniel Johnson (1789 - 1864) and Rhoda Crowner (1802 - 1889) from this publication.
Interestingly, Addie Johnson and Frank Sheldon were first cousins through their mothers who were Crandall sisters. Daughters of Kidder Crandall and Polly Stevens, this family ties into the (also in book form) The Descendants of Elder John Crandall of South Kingstown, Rhode Island.
The Johnson line descends from yet a third publication The Burr Families of America by Charles Burr Todd. Addie's great grandparents were Stephen Johnson (1762 - 1832) and Phebe Burr (1764 - 1807) from this publication in the chapter noting the descendants of Benjamin Burr of Hartford Connecticut.
In her brief lifetime, she gave birth to two children, Vernon Burr Sheldon (1890 - 1927), and Edith M. (Sheldon) (1896 - 1967), both also of Walton Twp., Eaton County, who with other family members are also interred in Bosworth Cemetery.
The photograph was a discovery in and of itself, as genealogy research pointed toward the family of her niece Jessie (Johnson) Williams. Through this family a living cousin was located and she kindly provided the image.
She remained alive to see the birth of three grandchildren: John David Sheldon (1910 - 2002), Ruth Eileen Sheldon (1913 - 1962), and Roberta "Bobbie" (Mains) Whitbeck (1916 - 2004). Two grandchildren passed away at birth (Helen Sheldon, 1916, and Dorothy Lucille Sheldon, 1922), and a third remains living.
