Funeral services for John A. Gute were held from the St. Mary's Church in Sac City on Tuesday morning with Father J. E. Tolan in charge. Mr. Gute was the victim of a fall from the railroad bridge just east of Sac City and had been dead for several days when found. He had been the object of a search since Saturday morning until found a week later on Sunday.
John A. Gute was born on April 24, 1879 in Breda, Iowa and passed away in Sac City, Iowa on November 28, 1953. He had lived alone on South Ninth Street in Sac City and he had been employed as a night watchman for the Noble Manufacturing Company up until the time of his passing.

John was the son of John and Susan Schupanitz Gute of Breda, Iowa. He was a brother of:
Henry, William, Frank, and Herman.
He married Ella (Helen) Schulte on January 17, 1905; they were the parents of a daughter, Estella (Mrs. Conrad Landsteiner) of Fairmont, Minnesota, and a son, Leonard.
His wife, Ella, died August 27, 1933; his son, Leonard, died February 5, 1939.
On October 10, 1934, John married Odelia Weldinger Fisher. She passed away April 7, 1941.
