JOHN H. WRIGHT, JR. John H. Wright, Jr. of Carrollton died Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at the age of 75. Born August 7, 1935, in Burwell, GA, John was the son of Hollis and Helen Wright. He graduated from Bowdon High School in Bowdon, GA, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. John moved to Atlanta in 1953 and began working in the transportation industry at GFA. After his Army service, he held sales positions with ETMF, McClendon Trucking and several other trucking companies. After retiring, he ran a small landscape business. He was a beloved father and grandfather with a penchant for bluegrass music. He was preceded in death by longtime companion, Jean Burns. Survivors include daughter Debbie Wright of Roswell, son Jeff Wright and Debbie Stacks of Fairburn, grandchildren Joshua Wright of Carrollton and Meghan and Jordan Stacks of Fairburn, sister Julia and Elbert Eason of Carrollton, niece Dottie Howard and Family of Carrollton, nephew Scott Eason and Family of Carrollton and numerous Sherrill and Wright cousins. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2011, at Rainwater Funeral Home, Bowdon, GA. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 16, 2011, at Shiloh United Methodist Church, Carrollton, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Carroll County Georgia Humane Society.
