Thursday, 1918-12-12:
Lawrence Bayer died at the hospital Sunday evening from pneumonia after a two weeks illness.
He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Bayer of Willey and was born at Willey January 18, 1891. His whole life has been spent in this community, where he was one of the highly respected and industrious young farmers. In February 1916, he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Gute and to them have been born two children. He was a devout member of the Catholic church and died fully prepared to meet his Maker.
Funeral services were held at Willey Tuesday morning and burial was made in the cemetery at that place. Besides his wife and children he leaves to mourn his loss his parents, six brothers and one sister.

He was a brother of: John, Alvis, Adam, George, Frank, Joseph, Robert, Aloysius, and Theresa.
He was married February 22, 1916 to Annie Gute, daughter of Frank and Annie Grossman Gute.
He was the father of two sons, Arthur and Raymond.
