Funeral services for Susie Briscoe Williford, 95, of Houston, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 5501 Main St. in Houston. Officiating the service will be the Rev. K. Wayne Day with an associate pastor assisting. A 2 p.m. burial will be at the Briscoe Family Cemetery in Fort Bend County. Mrs. Williford died Monday.
Mrs. Williford was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church since 1911, a member of the Fort Bend County Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, and Colonial Dames of America.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Frank Williford.
Survivors include daughters, Nora Powell and husband, William of Houston, and Susie Murphy of Johnson City; a son, Dr. Frank Williford III and wife, Sue of Port Arthur; grandchildren, Mary Sue Powell, William Powell III, Nora and Terry Duraso, Leonard and Beverly Murphy, Alice Murphy, Frank Williford IV, and Mary Catherine Williford. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Paul Duraso, Jennifer Duraso, Katherine Murphy, and Cynthia Murphy; nieces, Mary Ruth Vaught, Dorothy McCormick, Amelia Mahler, and other nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews, Andrew Briscoe, Mason Briscoe, Dolph Briscoe, Frank Briscoe, and George Huntington. Honorary pallbearers include Terry Duraso, Edward Vaught, Balke Mahler, Bo Weison, and members of the Sadler Bible Class of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Friends may call at the George H. Lewis & Sons Funeral Home in Houston, with the family receiving friends between 6 and 8 p.m. Wednesday.
