Julius Arthur Bryant was born on March 20, 1912, near Albion, Iowa, the son of Delbert Vernon Bryant and Lela C. Jester Bryant. Julius received his education in the schools of that area. He grew up in Bangor, Marshall County, Iowa. Bangor is listed as his residence in the 1920, 1925, and 1930 censuses.


Julius married Dorothy Agnus Brown on February 28, 1935, in Eldora, Hardin County, Iowa. The 1940 census lists their residence as Marietta, Marshall County, Iowa. Julius and Dorothy were longtime farmers. They had lived 6 miles northwest of Albion, then on the present farm near Clemens, Iowa, for the past 21 years.


Julius Arthur Bryant passed away on Friday evening, May 24, 1963, at Mercy Hospital in Marshalltown while being admitted. He had previously been hospitalized with a heart condition.


He is survived by his widow, Dorothy; 2 sons, David Vernon and Daniel Lee, both of Marshalltown; daughter Leslie Ruth, (b. October 23, 1946), at home; 3 grandchildren, and a sister, Lucille C. (John) Goecke, of Marshalltown. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Harvey, in infancy.

Arrangements were by and Funeral Services were held at Estel-Perrin Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 1963, with the Rev. R. W. Baker of Union, Iowa, in charge.
