Edward Conklin Dies at Hospital

Edward L. Conklin, 75, of 193 Elmwood Ave., died today at 4 a.m. at Mercy Hospital. He had been in failing health for the past two years and was seriously ill since July.
He was born Aug. 2, 1881, in Pentwater, Mich., and had lived in Oshkosh for the past 50 years. He was married here in 1906 to Miss Edna Fraser, who preceded him in death in 1949. He was employed by Paine Lumber Company for 35 years, retiring 10 years ago.
Surviving are four sons, Wilbur and Arthur Conklin, Oshkosh, Ralph Conklin, Long Beach, Calif., and Marvin Conklin, Milwaukee; four daughters, Mrs. Orville Rees, Oshkosh, Mrs. Ernest Bigden, Chicago, Mrs. Robert Blechl and Mrs. LaVerne Johnston, Milwaukee; 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. One daughter, Dorothy, preceded him in death in 1948.
Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Fiss & Bills Funeral Home, with interment in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. on Sunday until the hour of services.
