CULLMAN--Funeral services for James Christopher "Chris" Thornton, 40, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011, at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel, Larry Brown and Tom O'Hara officiating, with interment in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Cullman Funeral Home Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Thornton passed away Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011 at his home. He was born Oct. 16, 1970 to James Ronald Thornton and Sarah Ann Heatherly.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include his wife, Wendy Hinkle Thornton of Cullman; a son, Lucas Christopher Thornton; daughter, Callie Beth Thornton; father, James Ronald (Maria) Thornton of Decatur; 2 brothers, Patrick (Christy) McCormick of Trussville and Paul Thornton of Decatur; 3 sisters, Amanda McCormick (Jason) Brannan of Birmingham, Lisa (Tom) o'Hara of Athens and Carmen Thornton (Jim) Scahrenkel of Decatur; and a host of other family and friends.
