James Merry, 20, dies Unexpectedly while on Leave.
James M. Merry died at 2:45 p.m. friday, suddenly, apparently from a blood clot in the leg. An autoposy will be performed today.
He was born Jan. 2, 1946. He was a 1964 graduate of Effingham high school and enlisted in the Navy on Sept. 20, 1965. He was home on leave from Key West, Fla at the time of his death.
He is the son of Mrs. Gwendolyn Merry and the late Merrill Dean (Bud) Merry.
Surviving are his mother, sisters, Margaret and Gwen, brothers, Richard and Stephen, all at home; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R.K. Volts, Effingham and Mrs. Ada Merry, Effingham.
Body is at Johnson funeral home. Arrangements are incomplete.
