Clayton J Howard, a well known young man of Novesta township, died at his home several miles southeast of Cass City, last Wednesday night, August 29, at twelve o'clock, after a two weeks' of illness of typhoid fever. His death was a severe shock to his family as he has always been very robust. He was thirty years of age.
He was born in Almont, June 10,1876, and came to Novesta at the age of sixteen years, remaining there until his death was the exception of a few years' of residence at Smith. He was married at he age of twenty three years. he leaves a wife and two children, the younger child being only seven months old. Mrs Howard was formerly Miss Alice McKNIGHT of Brown City. His mother, Mrs P Dougherty: three brothers, Asahel of Oscoda County; Homer and Harley, residing at home; and three sisters, Mrs. Roy Titus, of Imlay City; and the Misses Maggie and Edith, residing at home, survive him. All were in attendance at the funeral services which were held at the Novesta church Saturday morning at ten o'clock. Other relatives in attendance are: Mrs Mann of Brown City; Mrs David Graham and son, Herbert, of Capac; Roy Titus, of Imlay City.
The bereaved family have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad affliction.
