Sarah L. Roe (died April 20, 1885)
Children: David Henry Hurley and Lee Linder D. (many variations of his name).
Second wife was Perlina Catherine ("Katie")Copeland (born March 28, 1867 and died 1895 in Morehead, Kentucky. Pregnant, she was reportedly drying berries on the top of a shed roof, when she fell and never recovered). Their children were: Annie M. Hurley, Emily "Emmie" Hurley, John Thomas Hurley, Joseph E. "Joe Ned" Hurley, Martha E. Hurley, Orby Crystal Hurley, Willie D. Hurley, and Lucy M. Hurley.
His third wife was Flora Alice Alfrey whom he married late in 1903 or early in 1904; they moved to Oklahoma so James could build houses for the homesteaders and their children were: Omer Franklin Hurley, Ora Vanna Hurley, Melissa Alice Hurley Phinney Gillette, Mildred Lee Hurley, Opal Cyrstal Hurley, James Odis Hurley, and Audrey Marie Hurley.
James Hurley died of pneumonia in the hospital at Frederick, Oklahoma and is buried (I believe without a headstone) in the Hollister Cemetery. Flora was pregnant when he died and she miscarried the baby the day after his funeral.
