J. Luther McKimmy, 85, retired Beaverton farmer and businessman passed away Tuesday at the Midland Hospital after an illness of two months. Born in Preston County, West Virginia, May 6, 1871. Mr. McKimmy resided in Fulton County, Ohio where he married the former Agnes Boyce in 1892. He moved to Gladwin County in 1907 and has been an active and prominent resident. He was a county supervisor for three terms, supertendent and member of the poor commission for 12 years, director of the Peoples State Bank in Beaverton and director of the Federal Land Bank. He was the founder of the Beaverton Concrete Works and the Beaverton Construction Company.
