Mrs. Julia L. Alves
Mrs. Julia L Alves died Tuesday after a brief illness. She was 54.
Mrs. Alves was a native of California and had lived in Madera for 14 years. She was a member of St. Joachim's Catholic Church and of the American Iris Society.
She leaves her husband, John, five daughters, Kathy of Madera and Mmes, Mary Lou Herrrera of Dos Palos, Rosalie Taylor of Connecticut, Shirley McCloskey of Fargo, N.D. and Jeannette Martin of Fresno: six grandchildren, brothers John Salles of Fresno and Manuel Salles of Modesto, and four sisters, Mmes. Mary Larenco of Los Angeles, Odette (Frank) Mendes of Modesto, Leona (Joe) Pacheco of Tulare and Carmen (David) Gomes of Tulare and her father, Manuel Dias of Tulare.
Rosary will be at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Jay Chapel. Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday in St. Joachim's Church. Burial will be in Arbor Vitae Cemetery.
