Son of Frederick Haldeman and Lucinda Fulton. Husband of Mary Bubbel Haldeman. Father of Mary Elizabeth Haldeman.

As written in his obituary: William F. Haldeman, 85, of Tamaqua, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb.20, in Hazleton. He was the husband of Mary (Bubel) Haldeman. They were married for 60 years. Prior to retiring, he was employed by the former Atlas Powder Company, Reynolds, for 47 years, as a supervisor in the acid area.

Born in Tamaqua, he was a son of the late Frederick W. and Lucinda (Fulton) Haldeman.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in Central Europe. He was a member of the post-war Army of Occupation of Germany. Haldeman was a member of the United Methodist Church, Tamaqua, for 75 years, and served as a former member of the church council and kitchen crew.

A 1943 graduate of Tamaqua High School, he also belonged to the C.H. Berry American Legion Post 173 and the B.P.O Elks Lodge, both of Tamaqua. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and wood working, but family was most important. Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter, Mary Williams of Avondale; two sisters, Irene, of Media, and members of their exteded family; and nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by an infant son William; a son-in-law, Jack Williams, who died in August, 2009, and two sisters, Mary Southam and Pauline Stidham.

Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, Zizelmann-Roche Funeral Home, 500 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, with the Revs. Ronald Waite and James Cavallero officiating. Interment with military honors, Odd
