Born Jan. 23, 1933, in Monaca, she was a daughter of John A. and Sophie (Stork) Tuffie, Center Township. Following graduation from Monaca High School, Ruth was employed for 28 years as a secretary with the Nationwide Insurance Company. She was a former member of the Monaca United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and was currently a member of the Central United Methodist Church, Beaver Falls. Ruth previously sang in both church choirs.
In addition to her parents, she leaves her beloved husband of 42 years, Anthony D. DeSalle, whom she married April 4, 1959, in the Monaca United Methodist Church; a daughter, Deborah Martino and her husband, Michael J., Patterson Township, and a grandson, Michael, whom she cherished. She also leaves a stepson, Richard A. DeSalle, and his wife, Nicola, Fallston, and a stepdaughter, Kathleen B. Wilson, and her husband, James, Lancaster Ohio, and a brother and sister-in-law, John A. Jr. and Mary Ann Tuffie, Hopewell Township.
Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Simpson Funeral Home, 1119 Washington Ave., Monaca (724-775-0926). A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Monaca United Methodist Church, 813 Indiana Ave., Monaca. Her pastor, the Rev. Debra Rogosky of the Central United Methodist Church, Beaver Falls, will officiate.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Central United Methodist Church, 13th Street and 6th Avenue, Beaver Falls, Pa. 15010.
