Mr. Robert (Bob) Linwood Adams lost his short battle with cancer Saturday afternoon, February 19, 2011. He was born in Forsyth County on October 14, 1940 to the late Frederick and Ruby Pruitt Adams. After being injured in the line of duty, Bob retired from the Winston-Salem Police Department with 23 years of service in law enforcement. He enjoyed fishing and playing golf. Bob was a big sports fan and knife collector. He loved his family very much. Bob is survived by his wife of 48 years Barbara Sue Cranford Adams; daughter Janice Gail McCann; son Dean Allen Adams and wife Cindy; four grandchildren Adam Davis, Hannah Davis, Emily McCann, and Mitch Adams; Beloved mother-in-law Collice Cranford and all of the Cranford siblings and spouses; one nephew; three nieces; and Beloved Dog Princess. A graveside service will be held at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Tuesday February 22, 2011 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Cheryl G. Cottingham and Rev. Robert Peek officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family would like to give a special thanks to the nursing staff at Forsyth Medical Center on the ninth floor, the Derrick Davis Cancer Center, and Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
