ALBERT AKERS
Albert Akers, 82, of Franklin Furnace, a retired C&O Railway Co. employee, died at 8 p.m. Wedsnesday in Veterans' Hospital, Huntington, following a long illness.
Mr. Akers, a World War I veteran, was born in Greenup, son of the late Thomas and Emmaline Akers. His wife Norma Gue Akers, died in 1943. Surviving are three sons, Clarence of Rt. 3, Burl of Ironton and Harold of Alliance; one daughter, Mrs. Emil (Essie) Thornberry of Franklin Furnace; 24 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Walter of Wurtland and Fred of Ashland; two sisters, Mrs. Susan Daniels and Mrs. Nancy Daniels of Flatwoods.
The body is at Tracy Brammer Funeral Home.
