April 6, 1912 - August 29, 2013

Leota Clara Surratt Semones, 101, of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Waddell Nursing and Rehab. Mrs. Semones was born in Carroll County, Virginia to the late John and Eva Shockley Surratt. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter A. Semones.

Survivors include her daughters, Wilma Alford of Hillsville, Barbara S. Goad of Christiansburg, and Lillian Faye Wright of Pilot Mt., NC; brother, Cleophus Surratt of Hillsville; sister, Mabel S. Turner of Hillsville; and sister-in-law and spouse, Audrey and Lester Ogle.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 30, 2013 at Monta Vista Memory Gardens at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor David Bays officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
