Mary Catherine Vincent Brotherton was born December 24, 1916, the fourth child of eight to Stephen Paul and Fannie Sue Maroney Vincent in Hardeman Co., TN. She passed from this Earth on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany, MS at the age of nearly 90.
She was married to Thomas Edward Brotherton from August 3, 1940 until his passing on August 6, 2000.
This marriage produced a daughter, Mary Nelle, who was married to Charles McCommon for almost 42 years until his death in 2001. She is now married to Tommy Henderson of New Albany, MS.
Mrs. Brotherton had three granddaughters - Deborah Ranell Gilmer, married to Russell Gilmer, with one daughter, Rebekah of Friendship, TN; Ida Catherine Garrett, married to Mark Garrett, with three sons, Daniel, Ben and Stephen of New Albany, MS; Charlene Annette Hickey, married to John Hickey, with two sons, Jack and Sam of New Albany, MS.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, George Vincent of Tacoma, WA; Cecil Vincent of Saulsbury; Curtis Vincent of Jackson, TN and an infant, Simpson Vincent; her two sisters, Pauline Sinclair of Victorville, CA and Lillian Smith of Memphis, TN.
In addition to her daughter, granddaughters and great-grandson, she leaves on brother Travis Vincent of Huntingdon Beach, CA and six nieces, two nephews and several great-nieces and nephews.
