Only child and daughter of Lafayette "Lafe" and Hannah (Heflin) Kissick; wife of Allie Elgin Northcutt; mother of Minot Northcutt and Glenwood Northcutt.

She was married on 26 February 1901 to Allie Elgin Northcutt who was born on 23 December 1875 in Montgomery Co., Kentucky, son of Thomas Jefferson Northcutt and Eliza Henry. The ceremony was at the residence of Mrs. Freeman in Carlisle, the Rev. F. M. Tinder officiating. Eliza died from peritonitis on Friday, 8 March 1912, reported as Saturday [the 9th] of March in local newspaper, and was buried in Machpelah Cemetery in Mt. Sterling. Elgin died from leukemia on 8 July 1946 in St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, Fayette Co., Kentucky, and was buried in Machpelah Cemetery.
