Leafy. Little and Loud. She was of a persevering spirit. Gave that "be all, do all, show all" determined type of personality that let nothing slow her down. Her love for her husband and children was unwavering. She was opinionated and obstinate. Well read and believing in God and country above all else and instilled that in her children.
She suffered the loss of her youngest son, Robert, in 1963 the result of United States Air Force accident.
Leafy's oldest son, Clyde died in 1971. I can remember her saying that "No mother should outlive her children."
All three of her sons were decorated war veterans, and daughter Ramona married a serviceman.
She was a wonderful cook, a benevolent grandmother and a surprise and love to everyone who met her.
She was a prized "Daddy's Girl" and passed that trait onto her daughter and her granddaughters.
