A Celebration of Life Service for Herbert O. Carlson, 88, of Trimont, Minnesota was held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Trimont, Minnesota with Rev. Mark Anderson officiating.
Herbert Oscar Carlson was born on December 17, 1922 to Oscar and Matilda (Peterson) Carlson on a farm in rural Monterey, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at the Evangelical Covenant Church and went to country school District #102 in Galena Township. Herb then farmed in the area and raised hogs and cattle. On June 24, 1950 he was united in marriage to Marjorie Anshus at Becker, Minnesota. After their marriage they farmed in Galena Township, rural Trimont. They later moved into Trimont. Herb moved to Temperance Lake Ridge Assisted in Sherburn until becoming a resident at the Trimont Health Care Center in July 7, 2010. He attended the Evangelical Covenant Church in Trimont. Herb would enjoy reading the markets in the newspapers and watching them on the television. In his later years he would enjoy reading books about the End Times.
He will be greatly missed by his children, Byron and Karin Carlson of Forest City, Iowa and Kermit and Robin Carlson of rural Trimont, Minnesota; grandchildren, Kelsey and Landon Nagel of Colman, South Dakota, Bjorn Carlson of Des Moines, Iowa, Riley and Cassie Carlson of Madison Lake, Minnesota, Anders Carlson of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Hilary Carlson of River Falls, Wisconsin; sister, Linnea Carlson of Trimont, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Avis and Bob Nelson of Buffalo, Minnesota; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
Herb was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marjorie on December 12, 2007; sister, Elsie Carlson and other relatives.
