"Dr. T. F. McKey, Allopathic, graduated from the Chicago Medical College in 1878, then took a special course of surgery under Prof. W. F. Peck, of Iowa City, receiving another diploma from that institution in March 1882; began practice in Merrill, Wisconsin; was appointment surgeon of the Wapun Prison, in 1883 remaining there until 1885, when he moved to Luverne; after a residence of only six months there he came to Clear Lake and remained there until three years ago, when he came to Canby."
From the Journal of the American Medical Association, Volume 58:
"Thomas F. McKey, M.D. University of Iowa, Iowa City, 1882; a member of the Minnesota State Medical Association; chief physician of the Wisconsin State Penitentiary, Waupun, for two years; died at his home in Albert Lea, December 31, from arteriosclerosis, aged 49."
