Reuben lived for a time in Minnesota and Oregon then the family moved to Sask, Canada in 1910 to homestead. Reuben served in the US Army during WWI. In Chicago in 1919 he married Jane Todriff and from 1920 to 1926 they farmed in Wyoming. Then they moved to Chicago, Illinois where Reuben trained to become a plant engineer. He worked in different facilities in and around Chicago. The couple had three sons, Robert E. who died young and is buried in Chicago, Ill., Glen "Todd", and Arthur Henry. In 1932 while on vacation in British Columbia, Canada his wife, Jane died of heat stroke and she is buried in Alsip, Cook County, Illinois.
Reuben married Genevieve Right in 1940. The couple retired to farm in Roselawn, Indiana. Reuben died there June 1, 1983.
He was survived by his wife, Genevieve and sons Glen "Todd" of California and Arthur in Chicago. Burial was in the Roselawn Cemetery Newton County, Indiana.
