Proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Participated in the Ardennes-Alsace and Rhineland Campaigns. Awarded the Presidential Unit Citation for the capture and liberation of Wingen-sur-Moder, France. Seriously injured in Stiring-Wendel in 1945. Awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart Medal, CIB, EAME Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars and other WWII Medals.
