Mrs. Gerda Hilde Jones, age 85 of Wesley Mountain Dr. Blairsville, passed away on Wednesday February 9, 2011. Mrs. Jones was born on April 18, 1925 in Karlrue Germany, the daughter of the late Julius Schillenger and the late Hildegard Bescla. Gerda moved to the area in 1987. She was the past President of the Georgia Mtn. unit of Church Women United. Gerda was a member of NARFE and volunteered at S.A.F.E house. She enjoyed gardening and was a self employed seamstress. Mrs. Jones was a member of the St. Clare's Episcopal Church.
