Our wonderful mom, Rachel Lee Kelly, went home to the Lord on December 5, 2010.
Rachel was born August 20, 1919 in Blue Ridge. In Rachel's early years, the family moved to Celina where she and her two brothers and sister grew up. Rachel met her husband, Joe, in Celina and they were married on February 1, 1943. Rachel's lifetime joy was raising and caring for her children. She was a loved grandmother and great-grandmother.
Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; parents, Lou and Laura Morrison; brothers, Harvey, Clint and George; and her sister, Pearly Lue. Surviving children are Danny of Van Alstyne, Carolyn of Plano, Gale of Celina, Brenda of Allen, Mark of Celina and Scotty of Aubrey. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends during a visitation to be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Celina from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2010.
Funeral services will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Celina at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2010 with Pastor Cliff Lester officiating. Interment will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina. To convey condolences or to sign an online registry, please visit www.tjmfuneral.com.
