Alice M. Gregory was born May 30, 1918, at Weedsport, New York, the daughter of Michael M. and Margaret F. (Kunkle) Gregory. She married Pietro Fernando Messina on August 3, 1946, in Auburn, New York.
Alice was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Marshalltown, and of St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society. Most recently, she was a resident of 304 E. State St., Marshalltown.
Alice M. Messina passed away on Wednesday morning, October 22, 1980. at the Marshalltown Area Community Hospital.
Alice is survived by her children, Peggy (James R.) Robinson and Peter Messina, both of Marshalltown; 2 brothers, Michael Gregory and Donald Gregory; 2 sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Gregory and Theresa Marie Campagnola, all of Auburn, New York; and 3 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and by a granddaughter, Michele Marie Robinson, Memorial #101133087.
Arrangements were by and an Altar and Rosary Society Rosary was said at 3 p.m., with a public Rosary at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 1980, at Avey Funeral Home, Marshalltown. The Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church by Fr. Harry Koelker on Friday, October 24, 1980, at 10:30 a.m. Pallbearers were Everett Lins, James Hilsabeck, Jerry Robinson, James Bacino, Earl Bachel, and Michael Messina.
