George Battles aged 75 of LaCrosse died suddenly Thursday morning in Bartesville, Okla., where he and Mrs Battles were visiting their sons Ernest and Leonard Battles. They left for the visit last Tuesday and at that time Mr Battles was apparently in good health. The body was brought back home and buried at LaCrosse Friday afternoon, the Rev. W. H. McCuistion conducting the services. He is survived by two other sons, Knox of Wichita, Kansas and Earl of LaCrosse. (Melbourne Times)

George married Annie Lindley January 20, 1885 in Sharp County, Arkansas
