KENNETH BRADLEY AMIS WAS THE SON OF HUGH SMITH AND WILLIE LEE BAILEY AMIS.

HE MARRIED WILMA JO BARRETT ON 19 JUN 1954 IN HAWKINS COUNTY, TENNESSEE. GOD BLESSED THIS MARRIAGE WITH A GREAT FAMILY AND MANY WONDERFUL FRIENDS.

CHURCH HILL – Kenneth Bradley Amis, age 75, of Church Hill, TN passed away Thursday, 2 DEC 2010 at the Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol following an extended illness. Kenneth was a lifelong resident of Surgoinsville and Church Hill. He was a member of the Amis Chapel United Methodist Church. He worked for Daniel's Construction Company as a construction superintendent until he retired in 1997 and has worked with Arrowood Grave Services since May of 1998. He was a member of the Clay Lodge # 386, the Knoxville Consistory of Scottish Rite 32nd Degree and the Jericho Shrine Temple.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh & Willie Bailey Amis, Sister, Bobbye Jean Gardner.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Wilma Barrett Amis of the home; special niece, Sonjia Barrett Ramsey and husband Joe Ramsey of Johnson City, TN; special nephew, Brian Barrett and wife, Gurry Kay Barrett of Church Hill; very special grandchildren, Bryce and Blaire Barrett of Church Hill; nephew, Daniel Gosnell; sister, Nancy Ramey and husband Clint Ramey of Church Hill; brother, Tony Amis and wife, Diane Amis of Church Hill; and several other nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 5 to 7 PM Saturday at the Johnson Funeral Home, and anytime at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted 7 PM Saturday at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clint Ramey and Rev. Roy Fowler officiating. Graveside services will be conducted 2 PM Sunday (5 DEC 2010) at the Church Hill Memory Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers are Tim Gardner, Rod Gardner, Marty Polson, Patrick Polson, Todd Amis, Brian Barrett, Joe Ramsey and Daniel Gosnell.
