Robert "Bob" Abbott Jr., age 83 of Winchester, TN passed away at Vanderbilt Medical Center Thursday February 3, 2011. Mr. Abbott served in the U. S. Army during WW II. He retired from South Central Bell 1990 following 45 years of service.
Mr. Abbott attended Alto United Methodist Church; farmer; an avid member of the Winchester Masonic Lodge and an avid coon hunter and loved spending time horseback riding.
He is preceded in death by his wife Electa Marie Garner Abbott in September 2005; parents Robert Lee Abbott Sr. and Lillian McKnight Abbott.
Mr. Abbott is survived by his sisters; Mable Tucker of Fayetteville, TN and Ruth Grimes of Tullahoma, TN; nieces, Donna Willis of Winchester, TN; Linda Lucas of Fayetteville, TN; Anna Tucker of Nashville TN; nephews, David and Bob Tucker both of Fayetteville, TN, Robert Grimes of Estill Springs, TN, Layne Grimes of Shelbyville, TN, Wayne Grimes of Murfreesboro TN; and a host of other relatives.
Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, February 6, 2011 at 1pm from the Chapel of Watson-North Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Taylor officiating.
Interment will follow in Winchester Memorial Park with nephews being pallbearers.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 5, 2011 from 4-8pm at Watson-North Funeral Home, Winchester, TN.
