Thomas was the brother of William Quirt. They came to Blaine in 1888 where they operated a hotel located on the Wharf. Later Mrs Thomas Quirt, with her daughter Gertrude, and sister Bessie Shay came from Ontario.
He was the Mayor of Blaine(1908-1909).
