Houston Chronicle, December 1, 2001:

William Robert "Bill" Aiken, devoted husband, father, grandfather, passed away Friday, November 30, 2001. Bill was born on November 17, 1929 in McKinney, TX to John W. Aiken, Sr. and Cora Belle Eubank Aiken. He served as a 2nd Lieutenant C. E. in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and thereafter attended the University of Houston. Bill was a master craftsman in every pursuit, an Oil & Gas wildcatter, expert woodsman, and excellent chef.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bess Catherine Aiken; brother, Edgar S. Aiken.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Betty J. Aiken; children, Candice Jo Hill and husband, Steven H. Hill, Robert Cody Aiken, Beverly Lynn McKenty and husband, John S. McKenty, Jr.; brothers, John W. Aiken, Jr., Edward E. Aiken and wife, Ann; grandchildren, Steven Kyle Hill, Allison Brooke Hill, Megan Lea McKenty, and Melissa Rene McKenty; and other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, December 2, 2001, in the Chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, with Rev. Dr. Richard Ward officiating. Interment services to follow in Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
