She was employed 12 years as a claims officer at Illinois State Unemployment Department at the Moline office. She retired in 1969. She was an avid reader especially enjoying mystery novels.
Doris Harriet Fisher, of Rock Island, died Saturday, April 17, 1999, at her home. Services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 1999 at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. Burial was in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials were made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline, or American Cancer Society.
Survivors include a son & spouse, Harold "Tony" & Martha, Moline; two grandsons Keith and Robert; four great-grandchildren, Michael, Jeffery, Kaitlynn and Ian: a sister, Eleanor Henry, East Moline; and a brother, Roy "Cully" Lindholme, Hendersen, Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Edwin Lindholme, her mother, Bertha Schweiss Lindholme Coghill, her husband, Harold Anthony Fisher, Sr. and a granddaughter Robin Lynn Fisher who died at birth.
Doris died at the age of 78 due to an inoperable aneurysm of the aorta.
