Kelly W. Cooksey, 92, of Scottsville, KY passed away Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Cal Turner Rehab & Specialty Care. The Fountain Run, KY native was a retired maintenance supervisor for the Allen County School System and a 27 year employee of the Allen County War Memorial Hospital. He was drafted into the military during high school and was stationed in Washington, DC where served in the U.S. Army military police division during World War II. He was a member of Scottsville Baptist Church where he served the church in many ways. Kelly enjoyed the game of golf and played for many years. After his retirement, he decided to start a model airplane club. He had several years of enjoyment with the club and met many people. He was a son of the late Bennie H. Cooksey and Queenie George Wood Cooksey.

He is survived by his wife: Jean Cooksey, Scottsville, KY;

1 son: Richard H. Cooksey and wife, Betsy, Bowling Green, KY;

1 daughter: Aleta Foster, Scottsville, KY;

1 granddaughter: Laura Beth Menser (Josh);

2 great grandchildren: Audrey Kate Menser and Lillian Grace Menser.

He was preceded in death by his first wife: Scottie Coots Cooksey and 1 brother: Don Cooksey and wife, Eura.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Dale Darley officiating and burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 7:00 A.M. until funeral time Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home.
