In 1913, Frank was working as a plumber in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he was an independent plumber licenced by the City. His daughter worked with him as his helper, and in 1916, at the age of 18, she was the first woman to pass the examination and receive a Plumbers' Licence in Tulsa.
