Frieda Strunk Powers, 84, of 650 Tower Plaza Dr., Lexington, passed away at 10:00 AM Monday September 29, 2008 at her home.
A native of Harlan, KY she was the daughter of the late Earl and Myrtle Taylor Strunk. She was retired from the Weaver Corporation and the Dura Corporation, she was of the Church of God faith and a true blue University of Kentucky Basketball Fan.
Survivors include three sons and three daughter-in-laws, Larry and Varita Powers of Inverness, FL, Clark and Elaine Powers of Harigate, TN and Charles and Wendy Powers of Harlan, KY; ten grandchildren, Kim and David Baker of Loveland, OH, David and Pamela Saylor of Alabama, Lance and Albina Powers of Inverness, FL, Ashley Lowe of Atlanta, Erin Powers Debusk of Tampa, FL, Jonathon David and Ruth Powers of Inverness, FL, Mary Saylor of Loveland, OH, Chara and David Celano of Inverness, FL, George Powers of Harlan and Tyler Powers of Harlan; her former husband, Virgil Powers of Harlan; fourteen great grandchildren; a special friend, Harry Thompkins of Lexington and several nieces, nephews and cousins including, Donna Powers of Lexington and Chuck Powers of Lexington.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Ramona Gail Saylor and Ruth Ann Powers and two sisters, Nadine Strunk and Juanita Bashum.
Services will be conducted on Thursday October 2, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home by the Rev. Larry Powers. Burial will be in the Paris Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM Thursday till the hour of service.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.
