Lawanda Sue Smith, 75, of Wichita Falls died Saturday, January 22, 2011, in Arlington.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with Reverend Tommy Free officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.

The daughter of Emmett and Bertie Dickson Scott, Lawanda was born July 12, 1935, in Rusk, Texas. In 1945, she moved to Wichita Falls. She was self-employed as a seamstress and day care provider. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of First Baptist Church after she couldn't attend services at Westside Baptist Church. Lawanda spent the last four years in Arlington.

Lawanda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby Jack Smith, in 1997; sisters; Janie Parks and Sunshine Largent. Survivors include brother, Emmett Scott of Rusk; four sons, Marvin Wayne Miller and wife, Sheila of Petrolia, Emmett Andrew Druien and wife, Lisa of Wichita Falls, Ronald Eugene Druien and wife Ronna of Wichita, Kansas, Donald Druien of Arlington, and Todd J. Druien of Wichita Falls; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
