George H. Baker, Sr., 66, of Gap (also known as "Uncle Bubs", "Papa George", and "Big George"), was tragically killed on Thursday, January 20th in New York while loading his truck.

He was the husband of Terri Lee Spotts Baker, with whom he shared 21 years of marriage.

Born in Gentry, Arkansas on April 15, 1944, he was the son of the late George H. Baker and Georgia Lee Wooten Baker.

He was the owner and operator of G. & T. Trucking for more than 30 years.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, my four sons, Justin H., Jonathan J., George H. Jr., all of home, and Gary L. of Okla..; and one daughter Colleen N. of home; three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; three sisters, Kathy Lee Spearman of Wichita, KS, Gloria Jean Christenberry of Berryton, KS and Barbara Ann Wilber of Holden, MO.

He had many friends across the US, including West Tucker and John Clark in Okla. and Marlin Smoker of Coatesville, and Mike Reid of Atglen.

He was predeceased by his daughter Danielle.

The Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 28, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in the Pequea Baptist Cemetery in Gap.

Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing from 10 until 11 AM.
