Judy Ballew

Judy Ann Curtis Ballew, 64, of Athens, died Sunday, Jan. 23 2011, at her home.

A native and lifelong resident of Athens, she was a daughter of the late Robert L. and Mae Dockery Curtis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Odis Ballew; and two great-grandchildren, Travis Hyatt Bates and Anthony Queen Jr.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Brian Cabrera of Cleveland; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Patty Ballew of Chattanooga, and Odis W. and Heather Ballew of Athens; one sister and brother-in-law, Katherine and John Kyker of Madisonville; one brother, Ronnie Curtis of Etowah; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were 3 p.m. Monday at Ziegler Funeral Home with Brother Charles Swicegood officiating. Burial followed in McMinn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers were T.J. Parish, Shane Whitaker, J.J. Rogers, Thomas Call, Josh Welch and Marty Swicegood.

The family received friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Ziegler Funeral Home of Athens was in charge of arrangements.
