Services for Orval Ervin Allen, 64, Valley Falls, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary with the Rev. Gene Koons officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Mr. Allen died today, April 14, 1995, at Valley Falls Health Center.
He was born Feb. 13, 1931, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of George Erschel and Jerrie Howell Allen. He lived most of his life in Lawrence and was a mechanic.
He married Grace Cron on July 10, 1949, in Ottawa. She survives.
Other survivors include his mother, Jerrie Pierson; five daughters, Margie I. Wilks and Betty Ann Oshel, both of Lawrence, Janet L. Decker, Valley Falls, Barbara F. Wilson, Frankfort, and Cathy Allen Oshel, Olathe; three sons, Gary S. and Orval E. Jr., both of Lawrence, and David F., Tucson, Ariz.; three brothers, Don, Dallas, Bob of Lawrence, and Richmond, Topeka; three sisters, Betty Pippert and Delores Robb, both of Lawrence, and Juanita Loss, Muskegon, Mich.; 20 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary, where the family will meet with friends.
The family suggests memorials to the American Lung Society or the Orval E. Allen Sr. Memorial Fund, in care of the mortuary.
