Lucille Annabell Fagering was born November 24, 1909, at Whitewood, SD, to Joshua and Mabel (Richards) Ramsey. The family lived in the Newell and Whitewood area and she graduated from Whitewood High School. She married Robert Fagering on December 13, 1933 in Rapid City. They made their home in Whitewood where she worked at Jensen’s Grocery. They moved to Vale where she operated a cafe and later they moved to Sturgis where she was employed by the kitchen at the Sturgis Hospital. After her retirement she cared for elderly residents in her home.
Lucille was a member of the lmmanuel Lutheran Church in Whitewood, a member of W.W.1 Auxiliary in Sturgis, a 50 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Nisland, a member of the Meade County Senior Citizens in Sturgis, a Volunteer at Fort Meade Veterans Hospital, and she met monthly with members of her school alumni.
