VIRGINIA BEACH – Nanette Schoew Jordan, 87, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children on January 19, 2011. Nanny was born on April 5, 1923 in Huntington, WV, and was the daughter of the late Frederick William and Clara Wilson Schoew. She worked at Everett School, The Country Day School for Girls, and was an Assistant Librarian at Norfolk Academy for 10 years. She had been a volunteer in the Virginia Beach General Hospital Auxillary, and was a member of the Norfolk Junior League. She was a dedicated member of Galilee Episcopal Church and was a member of their Altar Guild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Jordan, III, one son, Frederick S. Jordan, daughter in law, Roxann P. Jordan, and two brothers, Frederick William Schoew, Jr., and Charles R. W. Schoew.

She is survived by two sons, James M. Jordan, IV and his wife Cheryl, and A. Shepherd Jordan and his wife Mary Downey all of Virginia Beach, one daughter, Catherine Jordan Wass and her husband John of Suffolk, six grandchildren, Michael, Ann, Drew, Gait, William, and Mollie, two great grandchildren, Matt, and Wes, and several nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

A memorial service will be held at Galilee Episcopal Church on Tuesday January 25, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be private at Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Galilee Episcopal Church. H. D.
