Martha Deborah Flora PYLES (1858-1930) was the daughter of Michel PYLES (1813-1880) and Martha BURLEY (1821-1888) of Silver Hill, Wetzel County, West Virginia. Martha D. was known as Flora or Flory. She was married first to Andrew JONES (1848-bef1878) of Marshall County, WV. Andrew was the son of Israel (1814-1864) and Margaret Ross JONES (1823-abt 1864). Flora had three children with Andrew JONES - Rusha Ola JONES (1875-1950) who married Thomas Oliver JOHNSON (1871-1934) and lived on Johnson Ridge, Silver Hill, Wetzel County, WV; and a set of twins. Andrew JONES died before the birth of twins, Philiea [Felix} and Martha I. "Tina" in March 1878. Philiea and Martha I. were raised by other family members. Philiea was raised by his Aunt and Uncle, Frederick WISE who married Flora's older Sister, Mary Jane PYLES. Philea changed his name to Robert "Bud" WISE. Tina was raised by another unidentified family member and married Thomas CARNEY. Flora married John Calvin PYLES 22 Sept 1882 at the home of Flora’s mother Martha PYLES by Samuel POSTLETHWAIT, Minister. in Wetzel County, WV. Flora and Calvin farmed and raised nine children in Wetzel County, WV. Flora had a total of twelve children, three with Andrew JONES and nine with Calvin PYLES, all but one living to adulthood.
