Eva passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010 at her residence. She was born June 5, 1910, in Carroll County, GA to John Marvin and Alice Chapell Martin. Mrs. Hesterley was a past member of the Welti Cumberland Presbyterian Church for over 60 years, and for the past 5 years she had been a member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church. She worked up until the age of 95 before retiring. She loved her flower garden, and was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She was preceded in eath by her parents, husband of more than 60 years, Charles Horace Hesterley; son, Douglas Hesterley; 2 sisters; 2 brothers.
Survivors include a daughter, Alice (Uyless) Stewart of Cullman; son, John (Wnell) Hesterly of Cullman; sister, Margaret Quinn of North Carolina; 2 brothers, Walker Martin of Birmingham and Joe Martin of Florida; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Hesterley's grandchildren.
In lieu iof flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or to Alacare Hospice.
