Mineral Wells, Texas, July 15. - George W. Sturdivant, 79, son of the first settler of the Sturdivant community east of Mineral Wells, which bears the family name, died here on Monday. A pioneer carpenter, he built that community's first church and school. He was a native of Virginia, but came to Texas in 1886. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mary F. Foley, Mineral Wells; five sisters and two brothers. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon. - obituary
