For six years previous to her marriage, she was a teacher in the schools of her home county. On December 8, 1885, she was married to Oliver Twombley, at Liberty, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Flavia Olive, who resides at home, and Caius Ord, who lives near Arcadia, Nebraska. In the fall of 1887 she moved to Valley county, Nebraska, and soon resumed her former occupation of teaching. For nine years she followed this profession, taking her two small children with her. During this period, her marriage proved so unhappy, that at her request the court released her. In the summer of 1899 she became a member of the Presbyterian church and since that time has been numbered among its loyal supporters. On January 15, 1900, she was married to Eugene H. Stacy, whose sorrow at her death is shared by her children, and a very wide circle of friends. At the time of her death she was a member of the DAR, the Ladies of the GAR., Circle No. 6, The American Order of Protection, the Laurel Club, and the Presbyterian church.
Besides a husband and two children, the deceased leaves a sister, Mrs. Lottie Morris of Waterville, Oregon, and a brother, A.L. Stacy of Liberty Iowa.
