Darren attended Fulton Fulton Public Schools and graduated from Fulton High School.
He joined the United States Air Force in July 1982 where he served for twenty-four years at Fairchild Air Force Base, transfering to the Survival School. He retired fron the service in 2006.
Darren was employed at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane.
Darren is survived by his wife of twenty-six years, Colleen Winter of Spokane, his son, Benjamin Winterowd of Spokane, his father, Jay Winterowd of Arnold, Missouri, mother, Betty Nichols and step-father of B.J. Nichols of Fulton, sister, Jaelyn (Patrick) Briggs of Douglas, Kansas, step-brother, Joe (Karla) Nichols of Columbia, Missouri, numerous much loved, Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends.
Darren enjoyed spending time with his family, playing guiter, hunting, golf, fishing and other outdoor activities.
Darren was Babtized into membership at the Hams Prairie Christian Church.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, July 10, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Family will recieve friends from 1:00pm until the time of service. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorials be give to the National Coalition for the Homeless.
